Kevin Giordano, MBA, FACHE, will become senior vice president of Neurosciences, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology and Pathology Services on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Giordano, who joined the Brigham in 2008, currently serves as executive administrator in the Department of Medicine.
As senior vice president, Giordano will serve as the hospital’s executive partner to department chairs in Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine; Neurology; Neurosurgery; Orthopaedic Surgery; Pathology; and Psychiatry. In addition, he will be responsible for all aspects of the clinical, administrative and financial operations for the Brigham’s clinical laboratories.
“Kevin’s demonstrated commitment to exceptional performance across the Brigham’s multiple missions, combined with his extensive leadership experience and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, made him the ideal candidate for the role,” said Ron M. Walls, MD, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Brigham Health.
Giordano has held a series of leadership positions at the Brigham and its affiliated institutions. He began his health care career at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute before serving as administrative director for the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Brigham, followed by executive director of Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center at South Shore Hospital and, most recently, his current role in the Department of Medicine.
Giordano earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Information Systems from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and his master’s in business administration from the Yale School of Management in New Haven, Conn.
