BWHers and three patients from the Mechanical Circulatory Support program staffed an information table by the Shop on the Pike to raise awareness about ventricular assist devices (VADs) during the hospital’s VAD Awareness Day on Oct. 13. VADs are mechanical pumps that are used to support heart function and blood flow in people who have weakened hearts.
